Frieze Masters, 2015
14 - 18 October 2015
Regent's Park
London
NW1 4HG
Stand G19
The fourth edition of the fair offers an unparalleled opportunity to discover several thousand years of art from 131 of the world’s leading modern and historical galleries. 2015 sees the introduction of a new section 'Collections' alongside the return of 'Spotlight'.
This Fair is now closed.
Expertly vetted artworks spanning antiquities, Asian art, ethnographic art, illuminated manuscripts, Medieval, modern and post-war, Old Masters and 19th-century, photography, sculpture and Wunderkammer will be brought together in a singular space. Visitors will find both established artists and new discoveries, from highly collectable objects to significant masterpieces.
This year sees the introduction of a new section, Collections, curated by Sir Norman Rosenthal, who said: ‘Each of these eight presentations by individual dealers, spanning millennia, contain within them germs of ideas for exhibitions that could easily take place at any of the great public institutions in the world. This section will show that it is still possible, with both knowledge and love, to put together with outstanding collections of art that demonstrate the highest level of creativity in all different periods of history.’
Opening alongside the contemporary fair Frieze London, together the two fairs offer an unmissable opportunity to view, experience and acquire art. Frieze Masters is generously sponsored by Deutsche Bank for the fourth consecutive year, continuing a shared commitment to discovery.
Frieze Masters will again host the acclaimed Talks programme, curated by Jasper Sharp and sponsored by Gucci, in which leading contemporary artists, museum directors and collectors discuss the influence of historical art. The Sculpture Park will also return to the English Gardens in the Regent’s Park, selected by Clare Lilley and featuring new and historical works from both Frieze London and Frieze Masters galleries.
